Malachite and Pyrite Amulet, hung on soft black rope designed to sit just below the solar plexus.
So much thought and intention has gone into the making of these amulets, it is, in turn a ceremony in itself to go through the many stages of designing and making. I have chosen the combination of crystals and symbols carefully with the hope that they can bring you as much joy as I have received whilst making them. They also act as tools and talismans aiding you on your own magical journey.
Malachite is a fascinating mineral, ethically mined in Congo. It derives it’s name from the Greek words ‘mallow green stone’ due to its resemblance to the Mallow plant. Used for centuries the first known Malachite mines were in Egypt and Israel over 4000 years ago. It was mined to produce Copper, pigments for painting and cut into gemstones for jewellery.
In Ancient Egypt the colour green was associated with death and the power of resurrection as well as new life and fertility. They believed that the afterlife contained an eternal paradise referred to as the ‘Field of Malachite’ which resembled their lives but with no pain or suffering.
Malachite is said to aid with sleep and balance, and is often called the ‘stone of transformation, used for deep energy cleaning, bringing healing and positive transformation into your life.
Pyrite was a common crystal to be worn during the Greek and Roman Empires. Archeologists have discovered amulets, rings, lockets, pins and earrings that are made from this gemstone. This mineral was also heavily used by Native American Indians as a meditation and ceremonial tool. It is said that Pyrite has immense healing powers, and can aid with wealth and abundance.
